About The Position

As a Sales Associate, you provide customers with a unique shopping experience through excellent customer service, effective selling techniques, and in-depth product knowledge in a fast-paced specialty retail environment. The role supports sales goals, customer requests and special services, store presentation and upkeep, and accurate merchandise and register transactions. This is a part-time seasonal position at the West Elm Outlet at Tanger Outlets Lancaster.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of customer service and retail sales experience.
• Ability to provide customer service, sell effectively, and work toward sales goals.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment while also working independently and managing time.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a POS system.
• Ability to lift and mobilize items weighing up to 75 pounds using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Part-Time Flex associates must be available for at least two regularly scheduled weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday) and two shifts during the week (Monday through Thursday). Weekend availability must be on two separate days.
• Availability beyond the minimum schedule may be required to be scheduled for 20 or more hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide sincere, friendly, energetic customer service in accordance with World-Class service standards.
• Achieve established sales and contest goals and stay informed about current sales and promotions.
• Assist customers with gift wrap, gift registry, locating merchandise, catalog orders, special orders, back orders, charge sends, courier deliveries, and furniture orders.
• Use effective selling techniques to build multiple sales and increase productivity.
• Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge, including product features and benefits.
• Accurately and efficiently complete register transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining visual merchandise presentation, signage, and lighting.
• Maintain store cleanliness and upkeep, including straightening and cleaning and helping maintain the stockroom as needed.
• Process, ticket, and restock merchandise as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management and comply with company policies and procedures.
