About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other duties assigned by management. The role is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. Associates help customers identify products that meet their needs, maintain DTLR standards, support store operations and loss prevention, and help create a neat and orderly sales environment. A standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style-trend knowledge and an interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and provide professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance in selecting appropriate products.
Apply basic fashion and trend knowledge when assisting customers and selling merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or inconsistencies and support the store's shrink goals.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Help minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money received during assigned work, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
