About The Position

The Temporary Part Time Sales Associate supports store sales performance, delivers an exceptional customer experience, and carries out day-to-day store operations. The role follows customer engagement strategies and maintains merchandising standards that contribute to a positive in-store experience. The position requires at least 12 hours of availability per week, including one weekend day, with additional availability considered a plus. The associate provides customer service, recommends products, supports loyalty-program enrollment, and contributes to personal and store sales goals. The role also includes merchandising, transaction processing, cash handling, assigned opening and closing duties, loss-prevention activities, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store. The position requires standing and moving throughout shifts, assisting customers and retrieving merchandise, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling merchandise, and assembling or rearranging displays.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Minimum availability of 12 hours per week, including one weekend day; additional availability is a plus.
Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
Ability to operate a cash register and other office equipment and technology, including computers, phones, and scanners.
Ability to stand and move throughout the store during scheduled shifts and walk to assist customers, retrieve merchandise, and recover the store.
Ability to maneuver and/or lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to push and pull full racks of merchandise for restocking.
Ability to reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch to retrieve items, restock, and maintain store cleanliness.
Ability to perform occasional manual labor to assemble displays or rearrange the store layout.
Vision sufficient to read labels accurately, assist customers, and complete detail-oriented tasks.
Fine manipulation and hand-grasping ability to sort and organize clothing, place items on hangers, fold garments, and organize merchandise by color and size.

Responsibilities

Uphold retail standards and provide an in-store experience aligned with company standards.
Initiate conversations with customers, build relationships, learn their interests, and suggest suitable products.
Assist customers in fitting rooms and recommend products based on their needs and preferences through suggestive selling.
Promote the rewards program and meet weekly loyalty sign-up goals.
Learn about new products and trends and provide information and advice on product performance, features, and specifications.
Meet personal sales targets and contribute to overall store performance.
Maintain visual merchandising standards and keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked.
Assist with assigned daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Process transactions accurately, handle cash, and maintain point-of-sale integrity.
Follow company and store policies, processes, and procedures.
Respond promptly to customer or employee injuries and immediately report them to the manager on duty.
Participate in loss-prevention audits and follow loss-prevention policies to minimize store shrink.
Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
Communicate respectfully with customers and team members; contribute ideas and best practices and support a positive, collaborative work environment.
