About The Position

The Part Time Sales Associate supports sales performance, delivers an exceptional customer experience, and carries out day-to-day store operations. The associate follows customer engagement strategies and maintains merchandising standards that support a positive in-store experience. The role is based at Helly Hansen at Fashion Outlets of Chicago. The associate welcomes and engages customers, learns about their interests, recommends products that match their needs, and helps customers in the fitting room. They share product information, promote the rewards program, and work toward personal sales and loyalty sign-up goals. The role also includes maintaining the sales floor, supporting store opening and closing procedures, processing transactions, handling cash, and following company policies and loss-prevention procedures. The position requires clear and respectful communication, the ability to operate store technology, and the physical ability to move throughout the store, handle merchandise, and assist with displays and store upkeep. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and available to work at least 12 hours per week, including one weekend day. Additional availability is a plus; schedules should be flexible to meet business needs.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.

Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
Must be able to operate office equipment and technology, including cash registers, computers, phones, and scanners.
Must be able to stand and move throughout the store during scheduled shifts, including walking to assist customers, retrieve merchandise, and recover the store.
Must be able to maneuver and/or lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to push or pull full racks of merchandise for restocking.
Must be able to reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch to retrieve items, restock, and maintain store cleanliness.
Must be able to perform occasional manual work to assemble displays or rearrange the store layout.
Must have vision to read labels accurately, assist customers, and perform tasks requiring attention to detail.
Must be able to use fine manipulation and grasp items to sort and organize clothing, place items on hangers, and fold and organize merchandise by color and size.
Must arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service that meets company retail standards and supports a positive in-store experience.
Initiate conversations with customers, build relationships, learn their interests, and suggest relevant products.
Assist customers in the fitting room and recommend products aligned with their needs and preferences.
Promote the rewards program and achieve weekly loyalty sign-up goals.
Learn about new products and trends and provide information and advice on product performance, features, and specifications.
Meet personal sales targets and contribute to overall store performance.
Maintain visual merchandising standards and keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked.
Assist with assigned daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Accurately process transactions, handle cash, and maintain point-of-sale integrity.
Follow company and store policies, processes, and procedures.
Respond promptly to customer or employee injuries and report them immediately to the manager on duty.
Participate in loss-prevention audits and follow loss-prevention policies to minimize store shrink.
Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
