About The Position

As a ReStore team member, the Sales Associate helps customers have a positive shopping experience by providing friendly customer service and explaining how purchases support Austin Habitat for Humanity’s mission. The role aims to make a lasting impression and turn first-time shoppers into loyal ReStore customers. The work takes place on the sales floor in a dynamic, active retail environment.

Requirements

• Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving items up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving items up to 40 pounds.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer enthusiastically and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
• Provide volunteers with a meaningful experience.
• Proactively engage with customers, read their cues, and respond appropriately.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized sales floor by processing donations and completing housekeeping duties.
• Operate and sanitize equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with processing purchased merchandise safely, promptly, and efficiently.
• Help maintain merchandise presentation, pricing, and inventory accuracy.
• Restock sales counter merchandise.
• Participate in annual inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
