About The Position

The Sales Associate - Firearms is responsible for maintaining counter sales and customer service for firearms, as well as floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role includes greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction.

The position supports a high standard of customer service and helps create a pleasant, productive shopping experience. Associates assist customers with purchasing decisions by identifying their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup. They also complete Form 4473 accurately, demonstrate products, maintain and replenish merchandise, stay current on product knowledge and advertised sales, and keep the work area clean and stocked. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition customer service and sales.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and, occasionally, lift or move objects up to 100 pounds or more with a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and help ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
• Identify customer needs and recommend products based on those needs.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 is completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and throughout the retail store.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor-merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
