About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role includes greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise carefully, and providing product information, assistance, and direction. The associate supports a pleasant shopping experience by identifying customer needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup. The position also involves completing firearms transaction forms accurately, demonstrating products, maintaining and replenishing merchandise, staying current on product knowledge and advertised sales, and keeping the work area clean and stocked. The role works under general supervision and uses established procedures and occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition customer service and sales, and GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more with team lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and help create a productive shopping experience.
• Identify customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure Form 4473 is completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize, maintain, and replenish firearms and other merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of products, advertised sales, pricing, and signage through ongoing training and review.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
