About The Position

Talbots is hiring a temporary, part-time Sales Associate for its West Farms store in Farmington, Connecticut. The role focuses on providing meaningful customer service, promoting merchandise, building customer relationships, and helping the store meet its business goals. Associates use fashion and product knowledge to style customers, support store operations, and achieve sales and service metrics. The role involves working with multiple customers and projects in a fast-paced, changing retail environment, and requires availability for 15 to 20 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Requirements

Demonstrated selling competence and styling expertise, with a love of fashion.
Ability and drive to create, build, and cultivate relationships.

Excellent verbal communication skills and a high level of integrity.
Technological competency with computers, iPads, or handheld systems.

Comfort with climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for products, and to lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds.
Availability for 15 to 20 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Responsibilities

Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes products and builds brand relationships.
Assist the management team in building store business.
Use service enhancers, including Concierge, to build strong relationships.
Serve multiple customers at a time and handle simultaneous tasks or projects.
Stay informed about fashion trends and new arrivals, including product fit, color, and fashion details.
Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits and recommend items that meet customers’ needs.
Participate in learning opportunities and accept direction, coaching, and feedback to maximize performance.
Achieve sales and service metrics, including clientelling and outreach, appointment setting, and Talbots Classic Awards.
Complete assigned projects and operational tasks, including filling orders, replenishment, and recovery.
