About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you provide an engaging shoe-store experience by creating a welcoming environment, building customer loyalty, sharing knowledge of trends, and helping customers find styles that meet their needs. You contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture and support the store’s sales and operational goals.

The role includes carrying out daily store operations, maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment, delivering strong customer service, reviewing store performance, and communicating effectively with teammates. Associates follow company policies, seek feedback and development, and may assist with teammate training when needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily store tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and styles easy to shop according to company standards.
• Engage customers and provide attentive, helpful service that supports customer loyalty.
• Stay informed about trends and recommend shoes and styles that meet customers’ needs.
• Review store performance and help drive sales and achieve goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
• Follow company policies and procedures, act with integrity, and seek feedback for professional development.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development of teammates when needed.
• Work overtime when required to meet business needs.
