Sales Associate - Firearms (Part Time)
About The Position
The Sales Associate - Firearms is responsible for firearm counter sales and customer service, as well as floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise with care, and providing information, assistance, and direction. The associate helps customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products. The role also includes promoting programs such as CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup; completing Form 4473 accurately; demonstrating products; organizing and replenishing merchandise; maintaining product knowledge; keeping current on advertised sales, pricing, and signage; assisting with seasonal merchandise moves; and keeping the work area clean and stocked. The associate follows company policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of retail experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
- Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
- Knowledge of firearm and ammunition customer service and sales, including GCA.
- Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, prompt customer service and support a productive shopping experience.
- Identify customer needs and recommend products based on those needs.
- Promote programs, including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
- Complete Form 4473 thoroughly and accurately.
- Demonstrate products to customers.
- Organize, maintain, and replenish merchandise in the store and at the gun counter according to merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
- Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
