About The Position

The Sales Associate provides quality customer service and drives product sales. This role requires knowledge of products across the store, adherence to company policies and visual standards, and promotion of sales and special offers. As an ambassador for the organization and brand, the Sales Associate creates a distinctive customer experience that helps acquire and retain customers. The role focuses on outstanding customer service and merchandise promotion. The position is part-time, hourly, and non-exempt, and is based at the Southside Square Shopping Center in Kernersville, North Carolina. The stated pay is $9.00 per hour. The role reports to the Store Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.
Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including assisting customers as they enter the store and helping multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell the organization’s services and merchandise.
Set goals to improve selling skills and track overall sales.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup lists, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell goods, using guidance in the product knowledge manual.
Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend all store staff meetings and tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective, and report potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
