About The Position

Goodwill NCW is a nonprofit organization with 28 retail stores across north-central Wisconsin. Its mission is to elevate people by eliminating barriers to employment and transform lives through skill building for sustained employment and improved financial stability.

The Sales Associate supports customer service and store operations by processing purchases, informing customers about Goodwill programs, handling calls, and helping maintain merchandise displays and a clean, safe work area. The role is based at the Rice Lake Store in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and is full-time.

Requirements

• Excellent time management and prioritization skills, including the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate a cash register and accurately count money.
• Basic math skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience with computers, or willingness and ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends, and maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction by efficiently and accurately scanning tickets and processing payments while following cash-handling standards.
• Educate customers about the Round Up program and inform them about the Good Points program to achieve program goals.
• Operate the telephone, professionally answer calls, and use the paging system.
• Ensure items are properly displayed, pulled, and restocked in accordance with merchandising standards and leadership guidance.
• Assist customers in locating items or seek assistance when unable to help.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; complete opening and closing checklists and support general cleaning, including parking lot maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
