About The Position

Five Below is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales. The role involves engaging with customers, sharing product knowledge, helping them find merchandise, keeping the sales floor organized and stocked, and providing smooth checkout experiences. Associates work as part of a team to support store and company goals and contribute to a positive, energetic workplace.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required as needed.
• Comfortable using or willing to learn technology such as cash registers, handheld devices, and mobile devices.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
• Ability to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
• Ability to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Frequently operate a cash register.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently move around the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
• Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
• Ability to identify and discern email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Greet and promptly assist customers, including serving multiple customers efficiently.
• Assess customer needs, share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, make recommendations, and use suggestive selling.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and use product knowledge to suggest alternative solutions, including exchanges when appropriate.
• Keep management informed about restocking and service needs, as well as customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to meet store and company objectives and maintain a positive work environment.
• Operate the cash register and support checkout.
• Move, retrieve, and put away merchandise; help keep merchandise organized and the sales floor stocked.
