About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers, helping them locate and purchase merchandise. The role includes operating the cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty to support store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting Company assets.

The position involves frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, merchandise handling, and lifting. The work takes place in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and may include exposure to outside weather, hazardous cleaning solutions, slippery floors, and extreme cold in freezers.

Requirements

• Proficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.
• Willingness to comply with Company policies and procedures outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and Company communications.
• Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally climb a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Operate the cash register and scanner; itemize and total purchases, collect payments, make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as needed.
• Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise, and build merchandise displays according to Company processes.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean the restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty.
