Full Time - Sales Associate - Paint - Day
About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate in the Paint department, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. You welcome customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Department responsibilities may include tinting and mixing paint. You will spend much of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, while duties may vary based on department needs. Associates may cross-train in other store areas and assist with shopping or checkout.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
- Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
