About The Position

The Sales Associate works in the Paint department at Lowe’s and helps customers with their home improvement needs. The role welcomes customers, answers questions, helps locate and select merchandise, and provides friendly, professional service. Associates may prepare paint by tinting and mixing it, organize and replenish merchandise, process orders and deliveries, and occasionally load merchandise. Daily responsibilities may vary, and associates may cross-train in other store areas. The position may involve working inside and outside in changing weather and climate conditions, exposure to noise and moving equipment, and physical activity including prolonged standing or sitting and lifting.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
• Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare merchandise for customers, including tinting and mixing paint.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Occasionally load merchandise.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
