About The Position

The Sales Associate promotes and sells merchandise displayed on the showroom floor, working directly with internal and external customers. This role involves following up on customer orders and inquiries, assisting with merchandise-related problems in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations, and collaborating with other departments to ensure customer needs are met. The Sales Associate will engage customers by asking questions about products, prices, availability, and uses to understand their needs, and will explain product features in a clear and beneficial manner. Responsibilities include preparing sales tickets, assisting customers with product selections, recommending and locating merchandise, and describing merchandise use, operation, and care. Staying educated on new products, policies, and advertisements is crucial, as is possessing knowledge of sales methods and maintaining excellent customer relations through follow-up via email and phone. The role also includes performing any other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to customer’s needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Positive attitude when working with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of employment and safety procedures.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, typing, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs. rarely, and/or up to 10 lbs. occasionally to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Explain features of products that will benefit the customers based on their needs.
  • Prepare sales tickets for orders obtained.
  • Assist customers in making product selections based on customers specifications.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
  • Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.
  • Stay educated on new products, policies, as well as advertisements the store is running.
  • Use excellent customer relations.
  • Follow up with customers by email and phone.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by management.
