About The Position

The Sales Associate supports Goodwill retail operations by providing courteous customer service, processing transactions accurately, maintaining merchandise on the sales floor, and keeping the store and register area clean and orderly. The role involves working collaboratively with the sales team and contributing to a positive impact in the community. Associates may perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Communicate effectively with customers and Goodwill associates.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Settle customer complaints.
Perform basic math.
Stand for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
Bend and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
Have basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of previous work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a retail environment.
Excellent customer-service-related skills.
Working knowledge of a cash register.
Complete fluency in English and multilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Provide professional and courteous service to customers in the store, outside the store, and over the phone.
Place merchandise on the sales floor in a timely manner.
Ring up items accurately and handle cash, including making change and operating and maintaining the cash register, card machine, and calculator.
Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions courteously and promptly.
Keep floor merchandise neat and orderly across racks, shelves, bins, and hangers, and help customers with purchase selections.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance.
Keep the register area clean and orderly.
Remain familiar with store security procedures and exercise security practices when necessary.
Perform general housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting restrooms and dressing rooms.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
