About The Position
The Part-Time Sales Associate drives sales and customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and using effective selling techniques. The role performs daily store functions, including merchandising, product sales, customer relations, and store maintenance. Customer service, sales, and teamwork are the position’s primary focus. The associate helps customers select appropriate merchandise, supports shipments and restocking, follows visual standards, maintains an organized sales environment, and complies with company policies. The role also includes participating in service and product training and helping prevent employee and customer theft.
Requirements
- Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
- Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities, attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and support accurate inventory control, merchandise transport, and store maintenance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
- Reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use fashion and trend knowledge to meet customer needs by selling appropriate merchandise, following DTLR standards, and building customer relationships.
- Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
- Provide customers with a positive, energetic, and outgoing impression, while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
- Comply with company policies.
- Participate in service training and product programs.
- Follow visual standards, complete daily restocking, and ensure adequate size runs are represented according to visual directions.
- Help eliminate employee and customer theft.
- Maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
- Help keep the store organized as directed by store management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
