About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail store operations to support sales and profitability. The role focuses on merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, employee training and development, human resources support, and outstanding customer service. The position is responsible for the quality and performance of store staff, compliance with company policies and operational standards, and helping the store meet its budget and shrink goals. The employee may be asked to work in multiple stores within the assigned district. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours, and a flexible schedule is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid business knowledge and excellent English communication skills for working with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive or confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven critical and creative thinking, project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives precisely and consistently.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in day-to-day store operations and in achieving sales, profitability, budget, and shrink goals.
Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to build commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager with annual performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget expectations.
Monitor and identify potential loss or inventory inconsistencies, supporting shrink performance at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Ensure customer service standards are upheld and customers receive outstanding service in a friendly environment.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
