Sales Associate - Camping (Full Time)
About The Position
The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience and provides a legendary experience by identifying and evaluating customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The associate demonstrates products, maintains product knowledge through ongoing training, replenishes and restocks merchandise, maintains advertised pricing and signage, assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves, and keeps the work area clean, neat, and stocked. The associate follows company policies and procedures and performs other assigned duties. The position works under general supervision and established procedures. It requires occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and may involve recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, prompt customer service and support a productive shopping experience.
- Demonstrate products to customers.
- Identify and evaluate customer needs and make product recommendations.
- Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
- Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines and as needed.
- Remain knowledgeable about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
