Camping Sales Associate - Part Time
About The Position
The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining product knowledge, replenishing and restocking merchandise, maintaining pricing and signage, and assisting with seasonal floor merchandise moves. The associate helps customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The position works under general supervision and follows established company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
- Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly, and customer-focused service to support a pleasant shopping experience.
- Demonstrate products to customers.
- Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
- Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines and as needed.
- Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Identify and evaluate customers' needs and recommend products based on that analysis.
- Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
