About The Position

The Camping Sales Associate, referred to in the posting as a Sales Outfitter, performs selling and customer service activities. The role includes greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise carefully, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The associate supports a productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining merchandise and displays, and helping customers make informed buying decisions through needs assessment and product recommendations. The position works under general supervision and follows established procedures, with occasional independent judgment when completing assignments.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines and as required.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product-knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor-merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
