About The Position

The Full-Time Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. The role is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a focus on results. Associates build customer relationships, help customers identify suitable products, support store presentation and inventory operations, and follow company standards, safety, loss-prevention, and point-of-sale procedures. The standard work week is a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision and take charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style-trend knowledge and desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Provide professional, courteous, reliable, attentive, honest, and responsive customer service; identify customer needs and offer knowledgeable product assistance.
Use basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise, meet customer needs, and build relationships while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying issues related to loss or store inconsistencies, supporting shrink goals at or below the company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Help minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during assignments, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
