About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. Work is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. The standard work week is 35 to 40 hours. The role pays $13.25 to $14.25 per hour and is eligible for the company 401(k) plan.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work under minimum supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and assist customers professionally, courteously, attentively, honestly, and responsively; identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable product recommendations.
Apply basic fashion and trend knowledge to sell appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards and building customer relationships.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying issues related to loss or inconsistencies, supporting shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money received during the assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
