Sales Associate (Part-Time) - Clothing - Pontiac, IL
About The Position
The Sales Associate assists customers throughout the retail store, with a primary focus on providing excellent customer service. Duties may include greeting customers, cashier responsibilities, answering product-related questions, assembling products, housekeeping, and other tasks assigned by the manager. The role requires extensive knowledge and understanding of clothing and accessories. The associate must have open availability to work days, nights, or weekends and may work an irregular schedule in a retail store environment with cold and warm conditions. The position reports directly to the Store Manager and has no direct supervisory authority.
Requirements
- Excellent customer-service skills.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Frequent bending and twisting.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of clothing and accessories.
- Open availability to work days, nights, or weekends.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with FFL requirements for the sale of firearms strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with customer-service questions.
- Price merchandise and make price changes as requested by store management.
- Stock and face merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
- Assist with receiving freight and organize incoming products as directed by store management.
- Assist with cycle counts.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately.
- Process customer transactions using the KCX cash register system.
- Handle cash accurately.
- Handle customer returns.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
