About The Position
Vince is seeking a dynamic, customer service-driven Sales Associate for its retail store. The role focuses on generating sales, building customer relationships, and continuing client contact beyond the initial transaction. Associates capture customer contact information and use phone, email, and written follow-up to develop client relationships. The Sales Associate also maintains store visual and housekeeping standards, receives and presents merchandise on the selling floor, processes markdowns, and removes merchandise for transfers. The role requires operating the point-of-sale register and email systems, and following store operational and loss-prevention procedures.
Requirements
- Be reliable, adaptable, able to comprehend the role, and an effective communicator.
- Be sales-driven and goal-oriented, personable, and positive, high-energy, friendly, outgoing, and engaging.
- Initiate contact with customers and identify their shopping needs.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have computer skills to operate the retail POS system, Word, Excel, and email.
- Be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 35 pounds when merchandising the sales floor, and use ladders or stairs.

- Prior experience in retail sales is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals agreed upon with the store manager.
- Demonstrate knowledge of merchandise features and benefits to maximize sales opportunities.
- Listen to customers, identify their needs, and address objections.
- Develop client relationships beyond the initial transaction through phone, email, and written follow-up.
- Maintain the housekeeping and visual standards of the store.
- Operate the POS register and email systems.
- Safeguard store inventory by following the company’s loss-prevention program.
- Follow store operational policies and procedures.
- Manage the client book and conduct clienteling.
- Receive merchandise and present it on the selling floor, process markdowns, and remove merchandise from the floor for transfers.
