About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. Duties are expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a focus on results. The role involves helping customers identify suitable products, maintaining merchandise and store presentation, supporting operational compliance and loss prevention, and assisting with employee training. A standard work week consists of 35 to 40 hours.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and coworkers.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision and take charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
Track record of building and working as part of a team, ability to handle responsibility, and understanding of the street-lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships by providing professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service; identify customer needs and offer knowledgeable product assistance.
Use basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while meeting DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring issues related to loss or inconsistencies and help the store meet shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money received during assigned work, and work with management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
