About The Position

The Sales Associate provides quality customer service and drives product sales. This role requires knowledge of each product area or department, adherence to the policies, procedures, and standards in the visual manual, and full promotion of sales and promotions. The Sales Associate represents the organization and brand, creating a distinctive customer experience to acquire and retain customers. The position focuses on outstanding customer service and merchandise promotion. The role is part-time and based at Steelyard Commons in Cleveland, Ohio. It is hourly, non-exempt, and reports to the Store Manager. The listed hourly pay is $11.90.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.
Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including greeting customers and assisting multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell the organization’s services and merchandise.
Set goals to improve selling skills and track sales.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup lists, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell goods, following guidance in the product knowledge manual.
Achieve or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend staff meetings and store tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by following internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
