About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including providing excellent customer service, driving sales, merchandising, and other duties assigned by management. Responsibilities are to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. The associate helps customers identify and select appropriate products, maintains DTLR standards, supports store operations and loss prevention, and helps keep the sales environment neat and orderly. A standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours.

Requirements

Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores within the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships by providing professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service, identifying customer needs, and offering knowledgeable product assistance.
Apply basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or inventory inconsistencies to help meet shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss prevention and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during assignments, and work with management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
