About The Position

Sale Day Lane Captains help move vehicles through the auction lanes while the car auction is in progress. The role involves directing drivers, managing auction flow, prechecking vehicles, and safely moving, staging, and parking vehicles in the correct lot areas. Vehicle prechecks may include jump-starting vehicles, filling fuel, and adding air to tires. Drivers are trained and must consistently follow company safety policies and procedures. The position is scheduled one day per week, on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and involves working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
Basic computer skills are required.
Must be able to work outdoors under any type of weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must pass a complete background check as a condition of hiring.

Responsibilities

Direct drivers and manage the flow of the auction.
Precheck vehicles, including jump-starting, filling fuel, and adding air to tires.
Drive vehicles across the auction block while following safety guidelines, including wearing a seatbelt, placing the vehicle in park or neutral when stopping, and following the ADESA wedge.
Safely move, stage, and park vehicles in the correct lot area.
Immediately advise a supervisor or lane captain of breakdowns and maintenance needs.
Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Operate motor vehicles safely and practice conservative, cautious, and courteous driving habits.
Immediately report to a manager or supervisor anything that may jeopardize the ability to physically or legally operate a motor vehicle.
Immediately report all driving-related incidents, including traffic citations, warnings, accidents, or mechanical problems, whether on or off the job and on private or public property.
Perform other job-related duties or follow other job-related instructions as assigned.
