About The Position

Sale Day Drivers move vehicles through auction lanes during car auctions. The role involves driving vehicles across the block, safely moving and staging vehicles, and parking them in the correct lot area. Drivers must follow company safety policies and procedures at all times, report breakdowns and maintenance needs, and promptly notify a manager or supervisor about incidents or circumstances that could affect their ability to operate a motor vehicle safely or legally. The position is scheduled one day per week, Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and pays $18–$19 per hour. Drivers receive training. The job requires working outdoors in any type of weather and may involve inside and outside environmental conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to work outdoors in any type of weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must pass a complete background check.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles across the auction block while following safety guidelines, including wearing a seatbelt, placing the vehicle in park or neutral when stopping, and following the ADESA wedge.
• Safely move, stage, and park vehicles in the correct lot area.
• Immediately advise a supervisor or lane captain of breakdowns and maintenance needs.
• Learn, know, practice, and follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Operate motor vehicles safely and use conservative, cautious, and courteous driving habits.
• Immediately report to a manager or supervisor anything that could jeopardize the ability to physically or legally operate a motor vehicle.
• Immediately report driving-related incidents, including traffic citations, warnings, accidents, and mechanical problems, whether on or off the job and on private or public property.
• Perform other job-related duties and follow job-related instructions as assigned.
