About The Position

The Safety Professional will serve as a field safety representative supporting a structural steel crew on a hospital expansion construction project in Columbus, Ohio. The role focuses on field safety related to rigging, steel setting, and welding activities. The professional will work alongside safety and construction personnel to promote safe execution of the structural steel scope, maintain a visible presence in active work areas, recognize hazards, communicate safety concerns, and support compliance with applicable construction safety requirements. The assignment is expected to last 1–2 months, with an ASAP start. The schedule is Monday through Friday, Saturdays as needed, with 10-hour days and approximately 50–60 project hours per week. Compensation is $55 per hour, paid weekly.

Requirements

• OSHA 510 certification.
• At least 2 years of safety or EHS experience.
• Basic construction safety knowledge.
• Structural steel experience, including rigging, setting, and welding.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
• Working knowledge of construction safety, structural steel safety, rigging operations, steel setting, welding safety, fall protection and elevated work, material handling, and field hazard recognition.
