About The Position

The Safety Manager is accountable for implementing corporate and company safety and risk management initiatives and delivering results at both distributor locations. The role manages workplace injury and accident reporting and investigations, supports efficient handling of Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability claims, and coordinates follow-up and return-to-work modified duty efforts. The Safety Manager collaborates with management and Human Resources on modified duty assignments, the interactive process, and employment decisions, and provides safety and regulatory-compliance training to managers, supervisors, and employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 6 years of related experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 7 to 9 or more years of specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement corporate and company safety and risk management initiatives and deliver results at both distributor locations.
• Examine injury and accident reports and assist supervisors with accident investigations to support accurate, timely claim reporting to the Third Party Administrator (TPA) and help prevent similar injuries.
• Work with TPA claims adjusters to support proper and efficient handling of Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability claims.
• Follow up with injured employees and maintain regular contact with the TPA and Primary Treating Physicians to coordinate prompt return to work through the modified duty program.
• Coordinate and participate in all workers’ compensation claim reviews.
• Collaborate strategically with management and Human Resources on modified duty assignments, the interactive process, and employment decisions.
• Train managers, supervisors, and employees on safe work practices, including back injury prevention, accident and injury prevention, hazard recognition and awareness, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Perform other projects or duties as assigned.
