About The Position

Exodigo is seeking a hands-on Safety Manager to lead safety across its growing US field operations. Field teams map underground infrastructure using advanced sensing technologies in urban streets, transportation corridors, construction sites, and other complex environments. The Safety Manager will own the development and day-to-day execution of the field safety program, supporting employees and field partners across multiple regions. The role combines field work—observing operations, coaching crews, and addressing risks—with developing the standards, training, and processes needed to scale safely. The position is based across US metro areas with reasonable access to major airports, and requires frequent travel and support for night operations when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of occupational or field safety experience in construction, utilities, infrastructure, transportation, or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience supporting dispersed field crews across multiple active project sites.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal OSHA requirements and practical experience with hazard assessments, site inspections, training, and incident investigations.
  • Experience working around live traffic, active construction, or utility infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to earn trust in the field and hold teams accountable.
  • Ability to translate safety requirements into clear procedures crews can consistently follow.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, including managing corrective actions through completion.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and support night shifts when needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • OSHA 500 certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional safety certification such as CHST, ASP, or CSP.
  • Experience with roadway work zones, traffic control, utility locating, geophysical surveying, or subsurface mapping.
  • Experience overseeing subcontractor or field partner safety.
  • Experience building or expanding a safety program in a growing organization.
  • Relevant safety training credentials and current first aid/CPR training.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and improve practical field safety standards, working with Regional Managers and Field Leads to integrate them into daily operations.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits across US projects, including night operations; identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Review project risks before mobilization and help teams develop site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses, and emergency procedures.
  • Address risks involving live traffic, roadside work, manhole access, equipment handling, driving, heat, fatigue, and other site-specific hazards; establish boundaries and controls for work involving confined spaces.
  • Lead safety onboarding, toolbox talks, refresher training, and practical coaching for employees, supervisors, and field partners.
  • Align third-party crews with Exodigo’s safety expectations and verify required training and documentation before work begins.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions and lessons learned across regions.
  • Maintain safety records and help ensure operations meet applicable governmental, client, and site requirements.
  • Track safety performance, training completion, recurring risks, and corrective-action closure; provide recommendations to operations leadership and escalate unresolved risks.
  • Champion stop-work authority, encourage team members to raise concerns, and support safe restart decisions.
