About The Position

Parsons is hiring an experienced Safety Manager to support a major program and construction management team delivering a large, complex industrial infrastructure project. Reporting to the Construction Manager/Site Lead, the role leads program safety, health, and environmental activities, oversees contractor safety performance, identifies and controls workplace hazards, conducts inspections and audits, supports incident investigations, and promotes a proactive safety culture through construction, commissioning, and startup. The position is based near Little Rock, Arkansas and is part of a 4–5 year contract. Remote work is permitted during the first year. After that, the selected candidate must reside within commuting distance of Little Rock or be willing to relocate to the area. Periodic travel and coordination with program leadership, the client, contractors, consultants, regulatory authorities, testing organizations, and site personnel may be required. The posting’s listed duties primarily describe civil and structural construction inspection and quality oversight. The Safety Manager will coordinate inspection coverage, review construction documents, verify work and testing against approved requirements, document deficiencies and nonconforming work, maintain field records, coordinate with other disciplines, and support project completion, turnover, and acceptance.

  • Experience inspecting civil and structural work on large industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, Federal, or government construction projects.

  • Ability to maintain complete, accurate, objective, traceable, and auditable inspection records.
  • Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, engineers, testing personnel, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated integrity, impartiality, accountability, sound technical judgment, and commitment to safety and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Review drawings, specifications, approved submittals, shop drawings, work plans, inspection and test plans, and applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Inspect earthwork, excavation, grading, foundations, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, masonry, drainage, underground utilities, paving, and related site improvements.
  • Verify dimensions, alignment, elevations, slopes, tolerances, materials, installation methods, and completed work against approved requirements.
  • Coordinate required surveys, material sampling, field inspections, laboratory testing, and construction testing.
  • Review material certifications, survey records, compaction results, concrete test reports, welding documentation, and other quality records.
  • Confirm required inspections, tests, approvals, and preparatory activities are completed before work is concealed or advanced.
  • Identify defective, incomplete, damaged, unsafe, or nonconforming work and prepare inspection reports, deficiency notices, and punch-list records.
  • Coordinate technical evaluation of nonconforming work and verify completion of approved repair, rework, replacement, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor contractor workmanship, inspection readiness, testing performance, and compliance with approved construction and quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, quantity records, test results, nonconformance records, and supporting field documentation.
