About The Position

The Safety Intern supports the health and safety department and company-wide safety initiatives, working alongside the HR team on administrative tasks. The role coordinates safety equipment, supplies, signage, and apparel for company locations; maintains employee safety records and documentation; tracks renewals and expiration dates; schedules required safety and equipment training with outside vendors; and maintains safety and worksite inspection records.

The company employs more than 800 team members across Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. The expected salary range for New York State transparency compliance is $18.00–$19.00, with compensation based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office and learning new technology.
• Detail-oriented and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety equipment, supplies, signage, and apparel for all locations.
• Maintain employee safety records, certifications, licenses, training records, DOT documentation, and drug testing records.
• Track renewals and expiration dates and follow up with employees and managers to ensure compliance.
• Schedule required safety and equipment training with outside vendors.
• Maintain safety and worksite inspection records.
• Support the health and safety department and initiatives by assisting with administrative tasks.
