About The Position

Louisiana Cat is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join their growing operations. This position will cover Southeast Louisiana, including Prairieville, Reserve, Hammond, Luling, Harvey, and Covington. The role involves the implementation and execution of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Programs at Louisiana Cat, ensuring regulatory compliance, safe equipment usage, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in a Health & Safety profession
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• 1-2 years of experience training/instructing employees in safety subjects
• Strict compliance with PPE (personal protective equipment) safety regulations
• Compliance with all Federal, State and Local safety and company regulations
• Follow all Company Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures
• Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace, including marijuana and THC products.

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years of experience around construction and heavy equipment
• 1-2 years of experience with Marine/Oil & Gas/Plant work

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor overall safety strategies for Louisiana Cat's safety policies, regulatory compliance, safe equipment usage, and continuous improvement processes.
• Conduct training on Louisiana Cat Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures, and participate in/monitor Safety Training Programs.
• Document and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental records and statistics.
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and safe work practices to ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, customer requirements, and government regulations.
• Actively manage accidents/incidents.
• Conduct accident/incident investigations and prepare root cause analysis studies when required.
• Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with all Louisiana Cat and Government Regulations.
• Become qualified to give Forklift Operator Training, Manlift/Scissor Lift Training, LOTO Training, etc.
