The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District provides comprehensive wastewater and storm water management services to residents and businesses in both St. Louis City and County. Requirements
- Experience in safety training, audits, inspections, and incident investigation.
- Ability to document safety training and incident reports.
- Familiarity with emergency action plans.
- Ability to provide safety support across various operational areas.
- Collaboration skills with safety specialists and managers.
- Willingness to provide support outside of normal working hours.
Responsibilities
- Drive personal accountability to improve safety performance across business segments and serve as a liaison between management and employees on safety-related issues.
- Provide safety training to employees, supervisors, and managers, including new hires.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct field safety observations aimed at identifying risks with follow-up communications to supervision and management.
- Coordinates the inspection of safety equipment and provides training.
- Assists in updating District safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for documentation of safety training and incident reports and providing information to supervision and management.
- Assist in maintaining emergency action plans and coordinating drills.
- Provide safety support for operations in the pump station, collection, and treatment plants. Provide safety support for other departments as needed.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with safety specialist and safety manager to ensure District safety policies and procedures are being met.
- Occasionally provide support outside of normal working hours.
- Perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisor.
