Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, environmental, or health management and compliance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Excellent people and process management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate safety regulations, standards, and reporting requirements, including OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver safety programs, employee training, new hire orientation, and required annual safety initiatives.
  • Lead and support Process Safety Management activities such as: Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), hazard assessments, and the implementation of corrective and preventive controls.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to identify hazardous conditions, promote safe work practices, and provide regulatory guidance.
  • Investigate, analyze, and report incidents, injuries, and property damage, while monitoring the effectiveness of safety programs and recommending continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate occupational health, workers’ compensation, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, noise monitoring, respiratory protection, asbestos management and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Manage site security systems, security access controls, emergency procedures, fire department coordination, contractor safety performance, and emergency equipment inspections.
  • Oversee safety permits, contractor compliance, required safety training, procurement of safety supplies and equipment, and support SHE department with waste management activities, policy and procedure development.
