Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, environmental, or health management and compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
Excellent people and process management skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate safety regulations, standards, and reporting requirements, including OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
Develop, implement, and deliver safety programs, employee training, new hire orientation, and required annual safety initiatives.
Lead and support Process Safety Management activities such as: Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), hazard assessments, and the implementation of corrective and preventive controls.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to identify hazardous conditions, promote safe work practices, and provide regulatory guidance.
Investigate, analyze, and report incidents, injuries, and property damage, while monitoring the effectiveness of safety programs and recommending continuous improvements.
Coordinate occupational health, workers’ compensation, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, noise monitoring, respiratory protection, asbestos management and emergency preparedness programs.
Manage site security systems, security access controls, emergency procedures, fire department coordination, contractor safety performance, and emergency equipment inspections.
Oversee safety permits, contractor compliance, required safety training, procurement of safety supplies and equipment, and support SHE department with waste management activities, policy and procedure development.
