About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Safeguards and Security Specialist to join its team at the Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. The specialist serves as the safeguards and security representative for an assigned facility, oversees access control and entry requirements, and interfaces with Isotek Operations and Maintenance personnel during daily operations. The role also provides on-scene support for Special Nuclear Material movements and serves as the facility’s lock and key custodian. The specialist assists with scheduled and limited- or no-notice performance tests of Isotek programs, supports facility tours, demonstrations, and visitor access, and performs escort duties as required. The role supports the execution of the Integrated Safety Management System guiding principles and the core functions of the Isotek Safety Culture. Employees may stop work without fear of reprisal when unsafe conditions could affect personnel safety or create environmental risk. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of safeguards and security experience is listed as preferred.
Familiarity with Department of Energy orders relating to physical security.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 90–100 pounds.
Ability to obtain National Training Center PMC-410, Fundamentals of Performance Testing.
Ability to obtain National Training Center PMC-420DE, Physical Systems Overview.
Ability to obtain National Training Center VAC-200, Vulnerability Assessment Fundamentals.
Ability to obtain Human Reliability Program certification and DOE “Q” access authorization.
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter and be subject to a federal background investigation.
Must have Real ID-compliant identification to access the work location.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in a security-related field.

Responsibilities

Stop work without fear of reprisal for unsafe conditions that could affect personnel safety or create environmental risk.
Serve as the safeguards and security representative for an assigned facility.
Oversee access control functions and entry requirements for the designated facility.
Provide a functional interface with Isotek Operations and Maintenance personnel in daily operations.
Provide on-scene support for Special Nuclear Material movements.
Assist Isotek Performance Testing with limited-notice, no-notice, and scheduled performance tests under approved performance testing plans.
Serve as the facility’s Lock and Key Custodian.
Support tours, demonstrations, and visitor access to the facility.
Perform escort duties as required.
Support execution of Integrated Safety Management System guiding principles and the core functions of the Isotek Safety Culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
