About The Position

This position is for a Rug Sales Associate in Tulsa, working full-time. It is a safety-sensitive role that involves driving. The associate will promote and sell merchandise, work directly with customers, handle inquiries and problems, and collaborate with other departments to meet customer needs. Responsibilities include understanding customer requirements, explaining product features and benefits, preparing sales tickets, assisting with product selection, and recommending merchandise. The role also involves staying updated on new products, policies, and advertisements, using excellent customer relations, and following up with customers via email and phone. A key aspect of the job is performing in-home consultations, which may include floor and accessory layout design, and meeting delivery drivers at customer homes to direct installation. The associate will also perform other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license with no more than 2 traffic violations or 1 chargeable accident within the past three years.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to customer’s needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Knowledge of employment, safety, and merchandise handling procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales experience preferred, not required.
  • Positive attitude when working with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of methods for showing, promoting, and selling products.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell merchandise displayed on the showroom floor.
  • Work directly with internal and external customers.
  • Follow up with customer orders and inquiries.
  • Assist with problems associated with merchandise in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations.
  • Work on an organizational level with other departments to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Ask customers questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses to get a better understanding of the customer’s needs.
  • Explain features of products in a manner that the customer will understand.
  • Explain features of products that will benefit the customers based on their needs.
  • Prepare sales tickets for orders obtained.
  • Assist customers in making product selections based on customers specifications.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
  • Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.
  • Stay educated on new products, policies, as well as advertisements the store is running.
  • Use excellent customer relations.
  • Follow up with customers by email and phone.
  • Occasionally drive to customers home and perform in-home consultations, maximizing the opportunity to increase sales.
  • Perform floor and accessory layout design inside the customer’s home.
  • Meet delivery drivers at customer homes and direct installation of merchandise.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by management.
