About The Position

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Program Coordinator supports the daily operations of the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program by recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers aged 55 and older. This role ensures high-quality volunteer experience, maintains compliance with AmeriCorps requirements, and coordinates service activities such as healthy futures, economic opportunity, and aging in place. The role reports to the RSVP Program Director.

Requirements

  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and develop partnerships
  • Ability to adapt quickly and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Grant compliance and regulatory knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in human services, public administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years or more of experience in volunteer coordination, or program support.
  • Knowledge of aging networks and service systems

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit adults age 55+ through outreach, presentations, and community engagement.
  • Conduct orientations and onboarding, including enrollment paperwork and eligibility verification
  • Match volunteers to appropriate service opportunities based on skills, interests, and community needs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, and government agencies.
  • Communicate with volunteers to ensure engagement and retention.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with AmeriCorps Seniors requirements.
  • Collect and input data related to volunteer participation and service outputs.
  • Advocate for the needs of older adults and raise awareness of available resources for MCOA.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned for MCOA.
