About The Position

With direct supervision, the RS Cabinet Finisher I learns and performs basic skills and functions related to aircraft cabinet finish preparation and application processes using design and engineering drawings. The role develops entry-level technical knowledge, regulatory awareness, tool proficiency, and problem-solving abilities to support progression to the technician level. Using standard safety and operating procedures, drawings, tools, and materials, the employee develops proficiency in preparing and finishing furniture.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment, or completion of a technical certificate in cabinet making, is preferred; and/or completion in the current year of a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to work any shift.
Computer literate.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment.
Technical certificate in cabinet making.
Completion in the current year of a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Learn entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and the tooling used in the Cabinet Finish shop.
Prepare and finish furniture using standard safety and operating procedures, design and engineering drawings, tools, and materials such as sandpaper, polishes, adhesives, solvents, and masking mediums.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work.
Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft interior is protected (PTP).
Assist in developing and implementing related initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
