About The Position

With direct supervision, the Cabinet Finisher I learns and performs basic skills related to aircraft cabinet finish preparation and application, using design and engineering drawings. The role develops entry-level technical knowledge, familiarity with regulatory requirements and shop tooling, and problem-solving abilities to progress toward technician-level work. The position is in Gulfstream’s Appleton finish shop and is listed for the Weekend Days shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment, or completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making, is preferred; and/or completion in the current year of a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to work any shift.
Computer literate.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment.
Technical Certificate in cabinet making.
Completion in the current year of a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Learn entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in the Cabinet Finish shop under direct supervision.
Use safety and operating procedures, design and engineering drawings, tools, and materials to develop proficiency in preparing and finishing furniture.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work.
Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft interior is protected (PTP).
Assist with developing and implementing related initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
