About The Position

With direct supervision, the Cabinet Finisher I learns and performs basic skills and functions related to aircraft cabinet finish preparation and application processes using design and engineering drawings. The role develops entry-level technical skills, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and familiarity with tooling used in the Cabinet Finish shop, with the goal of progressing to technician-level competency. The position is in the GAC Appleton Finish Shop on first shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment, or completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making, preferred; and/or completion in the current year of a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be computer literate.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to work any shift.

Nice To Haves

Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment.
Completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making.
Completion in the current year of a youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Learn entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in the Cabinet Finish shop.
Prepare and finish furniture using safety and operating procedures, design and engineering drawings, tools, and materials such as sandpaper, polishes, adhesives, solvents, and masking mediums.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work.
Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment and ensure the aircraft interior is protected (PTP).
Assist in developing and implementing related initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
