About The Position

The Route Sales Representative meets customer needs through up-selling and cross-selling while providing superior customer service and proactively managing route responsibilities. The role solicits new customers, promotes Alsco Uniforms’ services and products, and supports customer retention through relationship-building and responsive service. The representative delivers clean textiles and service products, collects soiled textiles, manages account inventories, processes payments, and keeps route paperwork and service agreements current. The role reports to the District Manager and performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Maintain a valid driver’s license and a CDL when applicable.
Maintain a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, and safety violations.
Have excellent vehicle-operation skills and at least one year of verifiable safe and successful driving experience.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and route sales skills.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; be able to comprehend and follow directions; demonstrate good time-management skills and be a team player.
Recognize product colors, sizes, and types, and count, add, and subtract accurately.
High school graduation or similar experience.

Responsibilities

Solicit new customers; up-sell, cross-sell, and sample all lines of service or product while ensuring a profitable product mix.
Participate in promotions, contests, training, and audits.
Follow company policies and procedures for installing new customers, managing customer needs, and providing service; regularly meet performance goals.
Build customer loyalty and retention by providing outstanding service, communicating openly, educating customers, managing needs, and proactively resolving concerns with supervision.
Safely operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable laws and company policy; keep the vehicle clean and perform regular inspections.
Handle and process customer payments and keep route paperwork current.
Deliver complete textile loads accurately and on time, pick up soiled textiles, maintain proper account inventories, and service facility maintenance products.
Monitor and report competitive activity and keep service agreements current and renewed.
Return from the route and unload soiled textiles in the facility receiving area.
Prepare route paperwork accurately and follow check-in procedures.
Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Work with and support other service personnel as required by supervision.
