About The Position

The Rooms Inspector ensures that cleanliness standards are met by scheduling room and cleaning assignments, inspecting rooms and public areas, and providing feedback and training to housekeeping associates. The role also performs housekeeping duties, monitors room status and hotel cleanliness, supports workplace safety, and coordinates necessary maintenance repairs. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Customer service skills.
Prioritization and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Teamwork, ownership, willingness to learn, and a positive, service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
Inspect assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, and linens are clean and in good repair.
Provide efficient, objective feedback to room attendants to improve efficiency and quality.
Ensure associates have appropriate supplies, equipment, uniforms, name tags, and designated PPE.
Train associates on safety standards and consistently enforce them; address unsafe behavior appropriately.
Complete accident investigations and take steps to prevent future accidents.
Perform housekeeping duties, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning.
Verify and update the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
Perform opening and closing shift duties.
Notify the maintenance department of necessary repairs.
Monitor cleanliness throughout the hotel, including the parking lot and exterior entrances.
Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
