About The Position

As a Rooms Inspector, you ensure guest rooms meet Trailborn’s standards for cleanliness, presentation, functionality, and guest readiness. You inspect rooms, identify and communicate deficiencies, and coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and Maintenance so rooms are properly prepared before guest arrival. You report to the Director of Housekeeping/Housekeeping Manager or designated property leader and work closely with Room Attendants, House Attendants, Front Office, and Maintenance teams.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in hotel housekeeping, rooms operations, or a related hospitality field.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation deficiencies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple room inspections in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8–10-hour shift and move between rooms, floors, and designated areas.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and climbing stairs.
Ability to visually inspect rooms and perform minor room-preparation tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to safely use step stools or ladders when required and authorized.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a hotel or resort, particularly in room inspections, housekeeping quality assurance, or rooms operations.
Familiarity with hotel room inspection procedures, cleanliness standards, and room status management.
Experience with hotel property management systems and maintenance reporting platforms, such as Opera PMS and HotSOS.
Knowledge of hotel safety, sanitation, and OSHA requirements.
Ability to speak multiple languages.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough guest-room inspections for cleanliness, presentation, functionality, and guest readiness.
Verify rooms are cleaned, organized, stocked, and prepared, including linens, amenities, minibar items where applicable, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Identify cleanliness issues, maintenance concerns, missing amenities, and other deficiencies, and communicate them to the appropriate departments.
Ensure deficiencies are addressed before updating room status to Vacant Inspected or releasing rooms for occupancy.
Coordinate inspection priorities with Housekeeping and Front Office based on arrivals, early check-ins, special requests, and operational needs.
Report maintenance issues, damaged furnishings, equipment malfunctions, and other deficiencies through HotSOS or the designated reporting system.
Conduct follow-up inspections to verify reported issues are resolved and rooms meet quality standards.
Verify guest rooms comply with applicable safety, sanitation, and brand standards.
Inspect designated public areas, corridors, and guest-facing spaces as assigned.
Communicate recurring quality concerns, cleaning deficiencies, and operational issues to Housekeeping leadership.
Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate room-readiness updates to relevant departments.
Assist with room preparation and minor corrective tasks as needed.
Respond promptly to guest-related room concerns and coordinate timely resolution with appropriate departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
