About The Position

The Room Service Server works with the Room Service Team to provide guests with a positive experience. The role involves setting up and delivering food, beverages, and VIP amenities; retrieving trays; servicing hospitality suites; completing shift side work; responding to guest needs and feedback; and handling cash in accordance with company policies. The position is at The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, an HEI Hotels & Resorts property in Virginia Beach.

Requirements

Ability to communicate well with guests.
Ability to grasp, bend, lift, carry, move, or push goods on a cart weighing up to 100 pounds on a continuous schedule, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Nice To Haves

Hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and deliver food and beverage orders in accordance with established guidelines, procedures, policies, and company standards.
Conduct floor sweeps and retrieve food and beverage trays to maintain sanitation guidelines.
Set up and deliver VIP amenities.
Service hospitality suites in accordance with Banquet Event Orders and established policies and procedures.
Complete shift side work as outlined in hotel operating policies and procedures.
Respond to customer needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales; report communications to the immediate shift supervisor.
Perform cash-handling responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
